I'm a little HMMM about that Twitter thread because he didn't actually hear from anybody who said 'we are listening to you despite you not being our constituent' so much as he spoke to someone who told him to bother someone else, possibly to get him off the phone.

I do think we're at a point where the volume of negative calls is getting noticed and in that sense it doesn't matter who they are coming from.

I mean, I personally wouldn't call Chaffetz because he's the guy who ran a zillion emails-and-Benghazi hearings and was gleefully pro Trump, but it probably is case by case with other chairs.

It's definitely worth noting that the hard-and-fast rules we've heard don't necessarily apply (for instance the 'call the local office' advice seems generally sound, but I've talked to folks who've had interactions with my Congressman and named a specific staffer at the DC office who seems to be the policy guy/ shot caller so it seems like directing calls and messages to him is the way to go.)
