MCU Recs #26
Mar. 10th, 2021 10:54 pmAfter a few weeks' absence, Thursday recs have returned! This week we have a variety of MCU fanworks, including three by one person, which I didn't do on purpose. I read them all separately, really!
Art: Thor with tattoos by
infras. NSFW due to shirtlessness. Holy SHIT this is so fucking hot, and I love how much the artist accomplished in this b&w piece with just shading.
Vid: king of wakanda by
seinmit. Great T'Challa vid to an on point and fucking kickass song.

Sousa/Thompson, 37k. Detective Daniel Sousa is used to working with lifelike, human-looking androids. But he wasn't prepared for his new android partner turning out to be not a polite, compliant robot, but an angry, sarcastic, bitter person. Almost Human AU. No familiarity with the short-lived buddy cop show is required to enjoy this, which is about a human and an android having lots of feelings! Sometimes about each other! Quality pining in this, and Jack makes such a great cranky miserable robot.
Starring Matt Damon by

Matt Damon & Loki, 500 words. In which the guy who was Loki in the play was ACTUALLY Matt Damon, who kind of takes it in stride when he becomes an interstellar kidnapping victim for the sake of Art. Cute and funny.
Quantum Theory of Magic by

Thor & Loki, 3k. As they rebuild the new Asgard settlement on Earth, something is wrong with Loki. Thor just has to figure out what. This is lovely. I love how Thor has a better grasp of how to deal with Loki's prickliness now, and that he's learned that it's okay to say "I don't know"!!! Also, Valkyrie's cameo here is A++.
Salaam or Something Like It by

Bucky/Sam, 4k. There was only one room available in Ayagoz, Kazakhstan, and only one bed in that room. An imagined post-Endgame future where Sam has nightmares, Bucky has languages he didn't know he could speak, and there's some low-key pining with a very sweet finish. Lovely.
Balance of Trust by

Maria Rambeau & Yon-Rogg, 36k. Yon-Rogg is seeking sanctuary. Maria just wants to stop having to deal with this kind of crap. I had no idea I needed 36k of awkward, bristling h/c between this too, with bonus cuteness with Monica, but CLEARLY I DID. I love all the little moments of connection and commonality between Maria and Yon-Rogg, and all the signs of Yon-Rogg rethinking who he is and what he's about. And the big action finish was perfect.
